Alta Vista, Baby

Boracay is one of the top beach destinations in the country. It is where you can find countless hotels and resorts from budget accommodations to expensive ones. Whenever I travel, most of the time accommodation isn’t my top priority as I always travel on a budget. I mean I always look for something that I can afford of. I’m not that picky as long as it has a clean bathroom. But whenever there’s a chance to stay in a hotel that could provide me luxury, convenience and alike, who am I to resist?

Since I felt short with my last Boracay trip with my family, I planned another trip but with my friends. One of my friends (my office mate’s boyfriend) won a free one night stay for four at Alta Vista during their Christmas Party event. His boss has a unit there and that was the prize. I was informed by my friend that we could also book another room for the rest of us in the same resort because his boss’s cousin also owns a unit there. Perfect!

Alta Vista De Boracay is located at Brgy. Yapak in Boracay Island. If you will take a tricycle from the Cagban Port, it’ll take you about 30 minutes to reach the place. The tricycle fare costs about PHP 40.00 per person.

The resort is not a beachfront accommodation as it lies on the hillside which gives you a breathtaking and picturesque view of the surrounding sea and mountains.

What really enticed me about the resort was their infinity pool. I’m a fan of infinity pool.  We arrived at the hotel earlier than the standard check in time. There were already a lot of visitors checking in when we arrived. We seemed to be more foreigner in our own land in terms of the nationalities of the people who were in the area. There were too many other Asian people and foreigners. It looked like that we were the only Filipinos there. Since we didn’t have our rooms yet, we left our bags at the luggage area for the meantime and we went to the white beach for lunch and some interesting activities.

What is also good about the resort is they provide free shuttle to and/or from D*Mall every hour from 5:00 AM to 12:00 AM. The time may vary so make sure to check it from the reception staff. Aside from that they also arrange shuttle services to / from Puka Beach for free. Just ask their staff for the schedule, though.

The hotel also has its coffee shop and resident restaurant, though we weren’t able to try it. They also have function rooms if you wish to have a conference or meeting with bigger group here. They also have karaoke lounge which we weren’t able to check since we were squeezed with our time. The resort also offers massage services, water sports, spa and other facilities.

The resort is a 4-hectare prime property. There are about 17 elegant buildings in the resort comprised of 500-well appointed rooms.

When we went back at 2:00 PM, our rooms were already available. The two rooms assigned to us were situated in two different buildings but not that far from each other. Each room is fully furnished. Each room has its own LCD TV, refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer, telephone unit, air-conditioning unit, bathrooms with separate toilet and bath, queen-size bed/s and among others. The room was very spacious, and what I like more about it is it has its veranda which has a stunning view of Boracay’s splendid vistas.

The veranda and the view is perfect for a drink or two with friends. That’s what we exactly did that night before we headed to the white beach for Club Paraw night out.

Almost everything were magnificent in this resort. Too bad I just wasn’t able to experience the tempting infinity pool. I was really eyeing to try the pool prior to the trip but due to headache, I was too lazy to get out from bed. I couldn’t believe I missed taking a dip on this lovely pool. 🙁

Well, I don’t I have to fret anymore on what I missed from here. Maybe it could be another reason for me to go back or there might be a chance again for me to stay here once more.

All I can say is Alta Vista de Boracay is the best resort (so far) that I’ve been to in Boracay. Yes, it’s far from the crowded beach of Boracay where all the happenings occur but the elegance, service, amenities (especially the pool) are enough reasons to stay on this resort.
