Taking the train in India? Here are a few tips based on my experience traveling from Jodhpur to Jaipur and Agra to Delhi.

☑️ Booking on IRCTC can be tricky (OTP issues for foreigners), so it’s easier to book through local agencies
☑️ Book your tickets early because popular routes like Agra to Delhi sell out fast
☑️ Most stations don’t have elevators or escalators, so be ready to carry your luggage
☑️ If you want a more comfortable ride, go for higher class seats (AC coaches)
☑️ AC classes usually include free blankets, pillows, and bedding
☑️ You can bring your own food or buy from vendors onboard
☑️ Some tickets come with complimentary meals, depending on your booking
☑️ Keep your belongings safe at all times, especially during busy trips

It’s my second time in Jaipur, but I stayed longer this time to explore more of its iconic spots. It’s been over a decade since my last visit, and while I could only remember bits and pieces, the city still feels just as vivid and cinematic.
