It was just last time that I was able to try this famous restaurant, Kanin Club along the restaurant row of Ayala Triangle. I longed for this since I heard of their famous specialties like Sinangag na Sinigang and Crispy Dinuguan. Hearing those menus make me craved for those dishes.
It was my office mate’s last day in the office so we set up a send off dinner for her. Because I wanted to try Kanin Club, we planned to have it there.
It was Friday night so it’s filled with diners. There’s a number of people waiting to be called, so I just had my name listed for reservation then waited. It is apparent that this restaurant is really good because of the number of people lined up.
We already took our orders while waiting so it’ll be ready when we have our table.
And of course, we ordered the infamous Sinangag na Sinigang. My colleagues don’t like to have Crispy Dinuguan so I didn’t insist it anymore, though they didn’t say it was bad, it’s like chicharon in a dinuguan sauce. I’ll just try it next time.
After a couple of minutes, we then had our table. Without waiting any longer, our food were served.
The Sinangag na Sinigang for PHP 224.00
And the taste? Delectable. I like how it was cooked. Sinigang-inspired fried rice complete with pork liempo and vegetable tempura. It’s dry sinigang!
We also had Chicken Tinola for PHP 276.00
Chicken soup for the Filipino soul: chicken flavored by ginger, green papayas, and chili leaves. Feel-good soup.
Then Ginataang Hipon for PHP 298.00
It’s blurry but it was really shrimp! Fresh shrimp in a saute of fresh-squeezed coconut milk with wing beans and onions.
Last we had Tapa ni Ana for PHP 187.00
It tasted good but I haven’t found anything special about it. We just got curious with its name so we ordered it. And for me it’s expensive for 6 -7 strips of fried beef.
Moreover, it was an enjoyable and delicious dinner with my office mates. In the end my office mate paid for the bill, a treat for us before she left. Thanks for the delightful treat, Tina! 🙂
I’ll never get tired of trying new restaurants and specialties. Its fulfilling when satisfying your craving. Actually, I’m eyeing for another fast food / restaurant I recently discovered near the office and I can’t wait to try it.
