Coming back to Camiguin after almost 15 years was truly a special experience. For the longest time, I had been wanting to return. And finally setting foot again in this paradise in Mindanao felt both nostalgic and exciting. So much has changed, yet the island’s natural charm and beauty remain as captivating as I remembered. Because it had been more than a decade since my last visit, I wanted this trip to be more than just an ordinary getaway. I wanted it to be the ultimate vacation. One filled with comfort, relaxation, and a renewed perspective of the island I had missed for so long. Discovering UNWND Boutique Hotel Camiguin felt like luck. It was the perfect choice for my weeklong vacation on the island. It’s a new hideaway with everything I needed for the perfect Camiguin getaway.
UNWND Boutique Hotel Camiguin is a stylish and cozy boutique hotel located in Mambajao, Camiguin. I arrived at the hotel around 1:00pm. I was immediately welcomed by the staff with genuine smiles, making me feel right at home. It’s a perfect first impression of their warm hospitality. Since my room was still being prepared, I took some time to relax in the lounge and by the pool, soaking in the hotel’s laid-back vibe. The hotel is also known for its spacious, comfortable rooms and its convenient location, making it easy to explore Camiguin’s top attractions. I couldn’t be happier with my choice of UNWND Boutique Hotel Camiguin. It’s really the ideal spot whether you’re here in Camiguin to relax or go on an adventure.
Room
I didn’t have to wait long before the front desk handed me my room key. The staff even helped with my luggage, which I really appreciated. My room was on the second floor, and the moment I opened the door, I was pleasantly surprised by how really spacious and comfortable it felt. I stayed in a Luxury King Room, which was thoughtfully designed with everything I needed for my stay. The Luxury King Room features a spacious king-size bed and a range of wonderful amenities, including a TV, bedside lamps, a clothes rack, a small fridge, and a work desk. I particularly loved having the work desk, as it made it easy to take care of some weekday morning tasks right from my room. The bathroom was clean and spacious, complete with a hot-and-cold shower, essential toiletries, and fresh towels. Bathrobes were also available. Another notable feature of my room was the balcony. Even though it didn’t face the sea directly, it still provided a lovely view, making it the perfect spot to start the day with a cup of coffee and the calming sight of the sea.
Facilities
UNWND Boutique Hotel Camiguin offers excellent facilities and services that make it the best place to stay in Camiguin. Guests can dine at the on-site restaurant, unwind at the pool and lounge, area, enjoy the sunset at The Sundeck or at The Breakwater Dining, or shop for souvenirs at the in-house store. The hotel also has play and lounge area. Free Wi-Fi is also available throughout the property. What also stands out was the helpful staff who are always ready to provide travel tips and assistance for exploring Camiguin. For a more memorable trip, the hotel also has a private speedboat available for rent, perfect for an island-hopping tour around Camiguin.
Dining at Mamser! Restaurant
One of the best part of my stay at UNWND Boutique Hotel Camiguin was the dining experience at Mamser! Restaurant. The name ‘Mamser!’ comes from the warm and familiar greeting often used by local food service staff. The restaurant showcases a thoughtfully crafted menu that celebrates both Filipino flavors and other cuisines. During my stay, I was able to sample a variety of their dishes, each one prepared with fresh, flavorful ingredients. Among my favorites were the juicy and perfectly grilled chicken inato, the smoky inihaw na liempo, and the flavorful DGT express. Dining at Mamser! felt like more than just a meal. It was a cultural experience that complemented the charm and hospitality of the island.

Another reason I loved staying at UNWND Boutique Hotel Camiguin was the weekly events they host. I had the chance to join one of their yoga sessions. It was my very first time trying yoga and it turned out to be such a relaxing and unforgettable experience. These activities are a great way to recharge and make the most of your Camiguin vacation. The Lanzones Farm by Araw
The Lanzones Farm in Camiguin is not just your ordinary café. It offers a cozy atmosphere, picture-perfect corners, and a menu filled with creative lanzones-inspired dishes that truly surprised me. Every item I tried had lanzones or a hint of it, and each one was delicious. Some of my favorites were the ham and cheese crossanwich, the flavorful lanzones fruit cake, and the refreshing lanzones smoothie. I even brought home their Caramel Pastel, a local Camiguin specialty.
If you’re also working remotely, this is a great spot to spend a few hours since the café offers secure and reliable Wi-Fi. I was able to catch up on some work after enjoying my favorites from the menu, making it both a productive and satisfying stop during my trip.
Lahon Steak Bar
Another one of my favorite dining spots in Camiguin has to be Lahon Steak Bar. Seriously, lunch, dinner, and back again. That’s how good it is! I had the chance to dine there a couple of times and tried as many dishes from the menu as I could, and everything was delicious. My top pick has to be the Angus Ribeye Steak.

Araw Sports Club
Spending a week in Camiguin was packed with incredible experiences. From island tours to unique dining spots, and visiting Araw Sports Club. This newly launched recreational facility is located in the town center of Mambajao. The club features courts for Tennis, Pickle ball, and Paddle. It also has a gym and features wellness amenities such as an Ice Bath and Sauna. Guests can also enjoy a game of Billiards in the social lounge.
It was my very first time trying Tennis, Pickle ball, and an Ice Bath. I was genuinely surprised at how much fun I had with these activities. The in-house instructor guided me through Pickle ball and Tennis, which made learning the games easy and enjoyable. Overall, visiting Araw Sports Club was not just another highlight of my Camiguin trip, but also an experience that made me want to come back for more sessions and truly embrace an active and balanced lifestyle.
UNWND Boutique Hotel truly made my return to Camiguin a memorable experience. From the moment I arrived, the stylish and cozy rooms made me feel instantly at home.
