Our First Day in Sagada

At long last, we reached our destination. I made a reservation to Residential Lodge because of the good reviews I’ve read from different sites and it was true, plus the owner Tita Mary was very accommodating and kind. Mary Daoas of Residential Lodge +639196728744

Our room was big enough for us. There’s a kitchen and private toilet. And the rate is fixed for Php 250.00 per night per person.  We explored the lodge. We went to the rooftop first. The view was so relaxing. I love mountains, I hope I can do mountaineering soon. 😉

Afterwards, we went to the Municipal hall and checked out the tour rates. Since I’m not new to this place, we went to the Echo Valley first. From the municipal hall, we passed by the church. And from there a 5-minute walk going to the cemetery.

Sands and Patrick are skeptical if I’m leading them on a right way since the cemetery frightened them a bit. And from the cemetery, we walked another 5 minutes. You’ll never get lost in here since the path is visible. There’s a trace of walkway.

And here it was, the echo valley. OK emo-time. Lol!

Obviously, it was called echo valley because of the reflection of your sound as you shouted and also known as “echo”.

Because I was alone the first time I’ve been here I haven’t gone to the hanging coffins. I was afraid to go there just by myself and since I have sands and Patrick with me this time, I now have the chance.

After we took pictures, we decided to go to the Hanging Coffins. We didn’t know how to get there but the walk way is visible, we just followed it. The way to the hanging coffins was a bit muddy and steep. We are very cautious. After a 15 minutes walk, we have reached the Hanging Coffins.

We prayed silently. It was a bit scary then, only the 3 of us and it’s getting darker. After we took pictures, Patrick told us that we need to go. We’re getting scared since no one is in there except us and the hanging coffins. We walked faster but I can’t help to take more pictures of the surrounding. After 5 minutes, we’re back on the top. Kapagod maglakad ng mabilis, mas mabilis yung pagbalik namin kesa papunta, dahil ba sa takot? Hehehe.

Afterwards, I told them if they want to go the small falls if there’s still a time so we headed back to the church but wait I forgot my shades on the echo valley (we had a jump shot at the echo valley so I placed my shades at the rock). So I have no choice but we went back to the Echo Valley to get my shades back. Hehehe. Sorry Pat and sands. Since we have no time left for the small falls, we just relaxed ourselves on the nice view of the mountains at the Echo Valley.

At around 05.00 PM, we went back to our lodge then had dinner at the famous Yoghurt House.

And here’s our order:

I already forgot the name of our orders but there’s one thing I can remember on all those, “sarap”. The pasta was cheesy, the strawberry yogurt was good. The ingredients were simple but it was tasty. Anyone who’s coming to Sagada soon should try out this place.

Afterwards, we went back to our lodge then we drank, konting shot pampatulog then we went to bed for a good and restful sleep.
