Tarlac | Enjoying the ‘Bed Weather’ at Microtel Luisita

Tarlac is a province in Central Luzon that is completely landlocked and primarily consists of plains and some mountains. The place is known for its fine food and immense sugar and rice plantations. Some historical sites, beautiful landscape and other attractions can also be seen on this province.

The province of Tarlac is about 3 hours away from Manila. There are several buses that pass by the area making it easy for anyone to get to this place. Yet despite of the convenience and proximity, it’s baffling that I haven’t traveled to this place before.

It was weekend of September when my buddy and me visited its capital city and attended a tourism event. We have an extra day to explore around after; therefore I’ve noted some sites, which I’ve thought of worth visiting. It could have been a nice weekend to finally get to the different tourist spots of Tarlac until a heavy downpour came the evening of Saturday

There was a typhoon. A typhoon signal was issued for the entire province and nearby area, hence making it terrible for us to get out and maybe at least see the city. The typhoon spoiled the exciting weekend that I was expecting. But there was nothing that we can do. But essentially, there was nothing to fret about it because the hotel that we were staying for that weekend had become our saving grace, the Microtel Inn & Suites Luisita, Tarlac.

Because of the heavy downpour, our visit in Tarlac had unexpectedly become a staycation. It turned out to be such a nice substitute as we’ve realized, we didn’t really need activities to have a fun weekend. Being in a cozy room with comfy bed and enough space to move, as well as plenty of time to relax by watching TV or movies and just enjoying the ‘bed weather’ was a pleasant alternative to enjoy our time in Tarlac.

Microtel Luisita is situated in Hacienda Luisita in San Miguel, Tarlac. It has 50 rooms that are Queen Single Room, Queen Double Room and Queen Suite. Each room is equipped with air-conditioning, cable TV, and private bath with hot and cold shower. Some of its facilities and services are meeting room, Wi-Fi access, and complimentary free-flowing coffee. Breakfast is also being served.

Aside from the wonderful rooms and facilities, the hotel also has the most hospitable and kindest staff. They were helpful, accommodating and friendly. We were just so grateful that we’ve stayed on this hotel.

I wasn’t able to visit any single attraction during our stay in Tarlac. There’s a museum nearby our hotel, but I wasn’t keen on visiting it. Blame it to the ‘bed’ (bad) weather.

I was just so thankful that Microtel Luisita had provided us the redeeming grace to enjoy our weekend. The horrible weather might have broken our plan to visit some significant sites in the city, but that instance gave us a nicer kind of vacation – by having a lovely staycation. Truthfully, there are no other days to have such staycation than during rainy days.
