Gayon Cam Norte: Discovering Calaguas (Mahabang Buhangin) Day 02

Thursday, April 28, 2011

Good Morning Calaguas. It was a beautiful Morning for our 2nd day in Mahabang Buhangin! The sun rose on the other side so there was no chance for me to have a good shot of the sunrise but the beautiful beach alone is already captivating.

Gayon Cam Norte: Discovering Calaguas (Mahabang Buhangin) Day 01

Monday, April 25, 2011

The first time I discovered Calaguas online, I was eager to go there and explore it with myself. So after months of planning and looking for perfect dates, finally the long wait is over! It's time for me to uncover the beautiful beaches of Camarines Norte.

Calaguas. The Calaguas is a group of islands in the Philippine province of Camarines Norte. It includes the following islands: Tinaga Island, Guintinua Island, Maculabo Island and several other minor islands. Most of the islands are under the administrative jurisdiction of Vinzons, Camarines Norte while the minor island of Maculabo is under the jurisdiction of the municipality of Paracale, Camarines Norte. The famous long beach called Mahabang Buhangin is located in Tinaga Island. There are no accomodations available so better bring a camping tent and experience its powdery white sands.

My Paintball Experience

Monday, April 18, 2011

Aside from the activities I mentioned in my previous entry, Island Cove has another adventure to offer, Paintball.

Paintball is a sport in which players compete, in teams or individually, to eliminate opponents by hitting them with capsules containing food coloring and gelatin (referred to as paintballs) propelled from a device called a paintball marker. Paintballs have a non-toxic, biodegradable, water soluble mineral-oil. Games are played on outdoor or indoor fields of varying sizes.

Before the game begins, the officer in charge discussed how to play the game and specified the variety of rules and variations. Shoot your opponent from afar only and definitely no headshot. There are protective gears provided so there's no need to worry. (Parang kagat lang daw ng langgam pag natamaan ka ng paintball).

Adventure never stops at Island Cove

It's summertime and that means fun, fun and fun under the sun! But summer wouldn't be complete without having a company held team building, right? Aside from it's free and worry free, the wide range of activities make team building exciting.

Our company held it's summer team building last weekend at Island Cove, and the good thing was, it was my first time there.

Island Cove. Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park is ISO 9001:2008 certified and accredited by the Department of Tourism as a triple “A” resort. Located in the historic town of Kawit, Cavite, this Mediterranean-inspired island is approximately 45-minutes away from Manila.

Lakbayan: How Much of the Philippines Have You Visited?

Thursday, April 7, 2011

I was browsing through blogs and suddenly I found this cool feature on Canonista's blog. It's Lakbayan, where it will calculate how much of the Philippines have you visited. Actually, I was already planning months ago to have a map of the Philippines and marked the places I've already been to. Though I wanted an actual map print out and color it by myself, I think this will do for the meantime.

How does this work? Places are sort out by Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and you have 5 options to tick per province;
I live / have lived here
I often go here
Been here once to a few times
Just passing through
Never set foot here

Certified Hottie: Buffalo's Wings N' Things!

Wednesday, April 6, 2011

It was already my third time at BWNT (Buffalo's Wings N' Things) and it never fail to satisfy me. From the name itself both the wings and things are great.

Wings for their champion buffalo wings which you can order for half pound (PHP 125), 1 pound (PHP 245) or Triple Sampler (PHP 365). These buffalo wings come with different level of chilli flavor, from The Rookie to Armageddon (the hottest). But if you're not into spicy, there are also non-spicy favorites.

BWNT doesn't sell wings only but some other things too (comfort foods) like Chicken Fingers, Nacho N Salsa, Chilli N Cheese Fries, Burrito, Quesadillas, Hot Dog Sandwich and Cheese Burgers.

What do you get when you help out your friends? You get FREE LUNCH!

Since I don't like to spend my lunch break at my usual lunch place, Jollibee, Mcdo and KFC, I asked my friend to treat me at Army Navy. FYI: I booked her flights for 15 passengers using my Aunt's credit card, so I asked her to treat me for that (lagi na lang akong nagbobook, di man lang ako ilibre - drama mode)!

Best Bite Begins Here. Army Navy was first established at Tagaytay City and then opened its branches here at the Metro. The store was designed as a quonset hut which makes Army Navy different from the others. And the food? Let's check it out!
